Snowy Trendsetter spray rose: white, with an “English” bloom

Where the variety comes from, how the Trendsetter group differs from regular spray roses, how long Snowy Trendsetter lasts in the vase and how to care for it.

Snowy Trendsetter is a white spray rose bred in the Netherlands. Each stem carries several flowers and green buds, so even a small bouquet looks full.

Who bred it

The variety comes from Interplant Roses of Harmelen, the Dutch breeder that developed the first spray roses. Snowy Trendsetter belongs to the Trendsetter group, which differs from regular spray roses by its traditional “English” flower shape. Interplant lists it among its premium spray roses, whose flowers are larger than those of classic sprays.

What it looks like

  • Colour. Open flowers are white, tight buds are greenish — together they make a light bouquet with a fresh green tint.
  • Stem. 50–60 cm, carrying open flowers, half-open ones and closed buds at the same time.
  • Opening. The buds open one after another rather than all at once, so the bouquet changes every day.

How long it lasts

According to the breeder, 14–16 days in the vase — long for a cut rose. In practice it depends on care and on how long the flowers were in transit, so it may be a few days more or less.

How we use it

  • Single-variety bouquets. Dozens of stems in a tall glass vase — only white roses and green buds, as in the photo.
  • Wedding bouquets. The small white flowers keep the look light and hold up throughout the day.
  • In mixes. Next to hydrangea, lisianthus or ranunculus it adds volume and lightness.

Care at home

  • Cut the stems at an angle, 2–3 cm, with sharp secateurs.
  • Remove any leaves that would sit in the water.
  • Fill the vase 1/2–2/3 with cool water and change it every 1–2 days, recutting the stems each time.
  • Pinch off spent flowers so the remaining buds open sooner.
  • Keep the bouquet away from radiators, direct sun and fruit.
